Hydrometeorological disasters are the most prevalent type of disasters in Indonesia, with increasing frequency and impact driven by global climate change. Beyond physical and environmental damage, these disasters generate significant psychosocial consequences for affected communities, including stress, anxiety, emotional disturbances, and reduced social functioning, which are often insufficiently addressed during post-disaster recovery processes. Central Aceh is a region highly vulnerable to hydrometeorological hazards and therefore requires structured, contextual, and locally responsive psychosocial support programs. This program aims to provide psychosocial support services for victims of hydrometeorological disasters to facilitate the recovery of psychological and social well-being among affected communities. The intervention methods focused on meeting immediate basic needs and implementing psychosocial approaches, including play therapy and drawing activities targeted primarily at children and adolescents. The activities were conducted in flood- and landslide-affected areas in Takengon, Central Aceh. The results indicate that the implemented interventions had a positive impact on participants’ emotional recovery and contributed to strengthening social solidarity and community resilience among disaster victims. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for the development of applicable and replicable post-disaster psychosocial service models in other disaster-prone regions.
