<![CDATA[Literacy is a crucial protective factor in building children’s resilience, particularly for those living invulnerable and marginalized environments. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a local-based literacyapproach as a community empowerment strategy to enhance children’s resilience. The research employs a casestudy approach focusing on the implementation of literacy programs in several communities with high levels ofsocio-economic vulnerability. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews withstakeholders, and document analysis related to literacy interventions that have been implemented. The findingsindicate that the implementation of local-based literacy programs has a significant impact on children’sdevelopment and the surrounding community. These literacy initiatives not only improve children’s reading andwriting skills but also encourage the creation of a more supportive learning environment within families andcommunities. In addition, literacy activities based on local wisdom help strengthen cultural values, increasecommunity participation, and foster children’s self-confidence. Children also develop essential life skills such ascommunication, critical thinking, and collaboration with their peers. These findings demonstrate that local-basedliteracy plays an important role in strengthening community social networks, increasing awareness of children’srights, and creating safe spaces for child development. Therefore, integrating literacy programs into childprotection policies and community empowerment initiatives is a strategic step toward building a sustainable andsupportive ecosystem for optimal child growth and development.]]>
