This study aims to classify the emotions of the main character, Della, in Chelsea Karina's novel Alone, based on David Krech's theory of emotion classification and to describe their relevance to teaching literary appreciation for eleventh-grade students. A qualitative descriptive method with a literary psychology approach was used, with the researcher as the key instrument. Data were collected through reading and note-taking on the novel, an interview with an eleventh-grade Indonesian language teacher, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was examined through source triangulation. The results show that Della's emotions are divided into four classifications: basic emotions (happy, sad, angry, afraid), sensory emotions (pain, disgust, pleasure), self-evaluative emotions (failure, shame, guilt, regret), and social emotions (love, hate). The teacher interview indicates that the novel is suitable as teaching material for literary appreciation because it helps students understand characterization, develop emotional intelligence, and build empathy and critical thinking in appreciating literary works.
