<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the existence of the customary law community, the mechanism for resolving customary land (*ulayat*) disputes through customary institutions, and the legal consequences of such resolutions in Laranwutun Village, Ile Ape District, Lembata Regency. This is an empirical study employing a qualitative approach. Primary data were obtained through structured interviews and direct observation, while secondary data were gathered through a literature review. The results indicate that the existence of the customary law community in Laranwutun Village remains intact, evidenced by the presence of a customary community, customary land territory, customary institutions, and prevailing customary legal norms. The resolution of the *Tanah Merah* (Red Land) dispute was conducted through customary deliberation led by the customary leader (*Lewotana*), resulting in an agreement that is socially and culturally binding. The legal consequences of this resolution include the recognition of customary land rights and the restoration of social relations. The study recommends strengthening the legal recognition of customary institutions through local regulations to ensure legal certainty.]]>
