This study aims to describe students’ mathematical literacy in solving problems based on the ethnomathematics of Cianjur culture viewed from their mathematical beliefs. This descriptive qualitative study involved 29 seventh-grade students of Putra Rahayu Junior High School, Cianjur. A mathematical beliefs questionnaire was administered to all students, and one representative student from each category (high, moderate, and low) was selected for further analysis through mathematical literacy tests and interviews. The results showed that students with high mathematical beliefs fulfilled the formulate, employ, and interpret indicators. Students with moderate mathematical beliefs fulfilled the formulate and employ indicators, while students with low mathematical beliefs experienced difficulties in all indicators. These findings indicate that mathematical beliefs support students’ mathematical literacy.
