<![CDATA[This study aimed to compare the anatomical characteristics of Armstrong's weed (Chromolaena odorata (L.) R. M. King & H. Rob.) and knobweed (Hyptis capitata Jacq.) growing on non-mining land (BBT) and post-manganese-mining land (BT) in Oetalus Village. The method used was descriptive comparative, with plant samples taken from BT and BBT land in Oetalus Village with known mining histories. Transverse sections of the roots, stems, and leaves were observed under a microscope at 10 × 40 magnification, and cell/tissue length, width, and thickness were measured using the ImageJ application. Data were analyzed descriptively, both qualitatively and quantitatively, including the categorization of stomatal and trichome size and density, and the calculation of stomatal and trichome indices an densities. The results showed that cell size and tissue thickness in the roots and stems of both species varied between BBT and BT land without a consistent directional pattern across all tissues observed. Epidermal, stomatal, and trichome characteristics of the leaves of both species also varied in size and density categories between the two land types. The anatomical characteristics of C. odorata and H. capitata varied between BBT and BT land, likely influenced by genetic, environmental, and physiological factors.
