Character development from an early age is essential in shaping children's personalities, particularly the development of independence. Independence needs to be cultivated gradually and consistently through habituation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the habituation method, examine the role of teachers, and identify the obstacles and solutions in developing independent character among early childhood students at UPT SPF TK Negeri Namo Rambe. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were obtained through observations of habituation practices involving routine activities, exemplary behavior, repetition, and reinforcement. The results show that the habituation method has been implemented well through routine activities and consistent modeling. Teachers play an important role as mentors, role models, and motivators in developing children's independence. The obstacles encountered include differences in children's abilities and habits at home, children's dependence on their parents, and limited time for providing individual guidance. Therefore, consistent habituation, supported by teacher modeling and motivation, can contribute to the development of independent character in early childhood.
