This study aimed to develop Indonesian language teaching materials for foreign speakers (BIPA) integrated with North Sumatra's Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to promote both language acquisition and local economic products. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using a modified seven-stage Borg and Gall development model. The development process encompassed needs analysis, product design, expert validation, revision, and limited trials. The resulting textbook, titled "Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing Berbasis UMKM Sumatera Utara," comprises 131 pages featuring seven thematic units covering North Sumatran Coffee, Palm Sugar, Karo Songket, Bamboo Craftsmanship, Batak Toba Ulos, Nasi Hadap-Hadapan culinary tradition, and Purun Craftsmanship. An innovative feature of this material is the integration of QR codes that directly connect learners with MSME partners via WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, facilitating authentic communication practice. Validation results from two expert validators yielded an overall feasibility score of 93%, with 89% from the content expert and 97% from the practitioner validator, categorizing the material as highly feasible for intermediate-level BIPA instruction. This textbook successfully bridges language learning with cultural immersion and economic promotion, transforming foreign learners into potential ambassadors for Indonesian creative economy products.
