The Jaran Kepang Dance in Central Java faces the pressure of transformation from the realm of ritual to the creative industry without losing its cultural roots. This study aims to examine the Jaran Kepang Dance through an ethnochoreological perspective with a focus on its integration into creative ecosystem policies. The background of the study departs from the need to preserve traditional arts faced with the challenges of commodification, the lack of regulations protecting cultural rights, and the limitations of academic documentation. The research method uses a qualitative ethnographic approach with participatory observation techniques, in-depth interviews with artists and communities, and analysis of cultural policy documents. The ethnochoreological framework is used to understand the relationship between dance movements, social context, and cultural values contained. The research findings show three main things: 1) the social and spiritual values of the Jaran Kepang Dance strengthen community cohesion through rituals and cultural symbolism, 2) the potential for a creative economy is seen in the development of performances as cultural tourism attractions and sources of community income. 3) The function of character education is reflected in the symbolism of the movements that can be integrated into a local culture-based curriculum. The research approach uses ethnochoreology to connect aesthetic, social, and economic dimensions, so that cultural policy does not focus on commodification, but also on preserving values and empowering communities. The conclusion suggests that the Jaran Kepang Dance can be a model for integrating traditional arts into a sustainable creative ecosystem, provided that policies support documentation, cultural rights protection, and empowerment of arts communities.
