Background: Visual impairment can result from the effect of ethambutol during tuberculosis treatment. Ethambutol-induced optic neuropathy is a well-known complication with manifestations include painless loss of central vision. Case: This case presents a middle-aged female with vision loss less than one month. She is diagnosed with tuberculosis and six-months use of ethambutol as part of an anti-tuberculosis regimen. Color vision and visual field were decreased. After discontinuing ethambutol, the visual acuity and optic nerve function improved after five months.
