This study aims to examine the role of the boarding school leader in developing students’ discipline in performing congregational prayers and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors at Darul Khoirat Islamic Boarding School, West Pasaman Regency. This study employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the boarding school leader, supervising teachers, and students. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the leader plays an important role as a motivator, facilitator, and policy maker, strengthened by role modeling and continuous supervision. The discipline of congregational prayer has been developed through regulations and habituation, although some students remain inconsistent. Supporting factors include the boarding school system, religious environment, prayer facilities, and family support, while inhibiting factors include different religious habits, adaptation of new students, laziness, fatigue, physical and psychological conditions, and limited supervision. The study concludes that consistent leadership involvement can strengthen students’ disciplined religious practices.
