The Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) is a crucial instrument for environmental control, not only in a technical-administrative sense but also in its normative and ethical dimensions. This article discusses the urgency of AMDAL as a regulatory mechanism for preventing environmental degradation and supporting business feasibility, particularly from the perspective of Islamic business ethics. This study employs a literature review method with a normative and conceptual approach to environmental regulations and Islamic ethical principles. The findings indicate that AMDAL plays a strategic role in ensuring the legal and ecological viability of business activities, while also embodying Islamic ethical values such as mashlahah (public benefit), adl (justice), and amanah (trust). Furthermore, AMDAL functions as a concrete expression of corporate social responsibility (CSR) aligned with maqashid al-shari’ah. This article also highlights AMDAL’s role in upholding ecological justice, striking a balance between economic interests and environmental preservation as a divine trust. Thus, AMDAL is not only legally necessary but also morally and spiritually aligned with Islamic principles in promoting sustainable development.
