<![CDATA[This thesis, titled "The Role of *Tungku Tigo Sajarangan* in Religious Moderation Education in Batang Gasan District," was authored by Syukur Asrida Utama (Student ID 220401013), a student of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) study program at the Islamic Institute (IAI) of West Sumatra, Pariaman. The study is motivated by the importance of religious moderation in maintaining harmony within Indonesia's diverse society. Minangkabau society possesses a distinctive social system known as *Tungku Tigo Sajarangan*, comprising religious scholars (*alim ulama*), traditional leaders (*ninik mamak*), and intellectuals (*cadiak pandai*). These three elements play a strategic role in fostering the community's social and religious life. In Batang Gasan District, values of togetherness and deliberation (*musyawarah*) remain intact; however, challenges exist in maintaining synergy among these elements amidst changing times. Therefore, this study aims to describe the roles of the religious scholars, traditional leaders, and intellectuals, as well as to explore the strategies employed to instill values of religious moderation through religious and customary approaches. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Research informants consisted of religious scholars, traditional leaders, and intellectuals in Batang Gasan District. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that religious scholars play a role in providing a moderate religious understanding through sermons, religious study sessions, and religious activities. Traditional leaders play a role in upholding customary values and guiding the younger generation to adhere to social and cultural norms. Intellectuals play a role by offering insights and solutions to various social issues within the community. Strategies used to instill values of religious moderation include *dakwah* (religious outreach), customary deliberations, leading by example, and the integration of religious and customary values. The synergy among these three elements fosters a harmonious and tolerant society that upholds the values of religious moderation. Thus, the *Tungku Tigo Sajarangan* plays a significant role in religious moderation education in Batang Gasan District through the collaboration of religious, customary, and intellectual elements.]]>
