The 21st century is marked by advances in science, technology, and globalization, which present both challenges and opportunities for Islamic education. These conditions call for a transformation of knowledge so that Islamic education remains relevant, contextual, and capable of addressing the various issues of our time without losing its fundamental Islamic values. This article aims to examine Abdullah Ahmad’s views on the transformation of knowledge and the ideal form of Islamic education in the 21st century. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research by examining the works of Abdullah Ahmad as well as supporting literature related to contemporary Islamic education. The results of the study indicate that Abdullah Ahmad emphasizes the importance of integrating religious studies with general knowledge as a means to overcome the dichotomy of knowledge in Islamic education. Furthermore, Islamic education must strengthen spiritual, ethical, and moral values while adopting a critical, inclusive, and contextual approach. The transformation of knowledge is not merely directed toward the transfer of knowledge but also toward the development of students’ character and social awareness. The implications of this research suggest that Islamic education that integrates Islamic knowledge and values can serve as a foundation for shaping a generation of Muslims who are faithful, knowledgeable, adaptable, and capable of contributing to the development of global civilization.
