Abstract

Discussions on women's leadership in various areas of life attract the attention of many groups; both fuqaha, mufassir, and hadith experts. Differences of opinion are inevitable. The basis of this debate stems from an understanding of the hadith which textually seems to prohibit women from becoming leaders. This scientific article presents the debate on women's leadership based on the hadith texts of the Prophet Muhammad and the views of hadith scholars, mufassir and fuqaha. In fact, leadership is not in terms of mahdhah worship or rituals that do not recognize sex or gender. Leadership demands competence or skill and a person's worthiness in leading, not gender.

Abstract

Zakat, as an act of worship and a form of obligation for Muslims, has a crucial role in creating social justice and reducing economic inequality in Muslim communities. This research aims to provide a deeper understanding of how the zakat distribution process takes place. This type of research is empirical juridical research, namely by studying directly in the field to see directly how zakat is distributed, and the implications for the beneficiaries. The research results show that First The majority of people tend to view zakat only as an obligation that must be fulfilled by individuals, without understanding the potential positive impact it can have on the economic recovery of their fellow citizens; second, The practice of distributing zakat is carried out through an event called "mando'a," where zakat is distributed equally to all guests who attend the event; third, This research also found that the legal basis that requires every Muslim to pay zakat is contained in the Quran Surah At-Taubah verse 60, the words of Rasulullah SAW, and Law no. 32 of 2011 Article 25 concerning Zakat. However, even though there is a strong legal basis, the zakat funds received by Mustahik are insufficient to meet their needs. These funds are limited to daily needs, so they cannot have a significant long-term impact on their economic recovery. Thus, this research provides a clear picture of zakat practice, identifies differences between community perceptions and Islamic law, and shows potential improvements in zakat distribution to provide greater social and economic impact for mustahik.

Abstract

Adolescents, as individuals in the transitional phase toward adulthood, are highly vulnerable to changes in the family environment, especially those resulting from parental divorce. This study is motivated by concerns over the increasing incidence of social dysfunction among adolescents from divorced families, such as declining academic performance, deviant behavior, and emotional disturbances. The study aims to analyze and describe in depth the impact of parental divorce on adolescents' social behavior, both from psychological and social perspectives, and to examine the issue through the lens of Islamic law. Additionally, this study aims to identify efforts that can be made to ensure that adolescents maintain good social and moral resilience after their parents' divorce. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The study was conducted on several adolescents from divorced families. Data analysis was performed through data reduction, data presentation, and inductive conclusion-drawing. The results of the study indicate that parental divorce has a significant impact on adolescents' social behavior. The implications of this study are the need for active roles from various parties, such as extended families, communities, schools, and religious institutions, to provide emotional and spiritual support to adolescents who are victims of divorce. Additionally, there is a need for regulations that strengthen parents' obligations in raising children post-divorce to ensure their healthy social and spiritual development. This study is expected to serve as an academic and practical reference in developing an inclusive social support system for adolescents affected by divorce.

Abstract

The history of Islam records periods of advancement, decline, and reform, including in Egypt. This study examines the impact of Napoleon Bonaparte’s expedition on Islamic education in Egypt, which, although primarily a military campaign, also created opportunities for intellectual and educational reform. The research employs a qualitative method with a content analysis approach, analyzing historical documents, literature, and scholarly publications to explore the social, political, and educational influences of the expedition. The findings indicate that the presence of Napoleon and his entourage, including scholars, generated new awareness among Egyptian intellectuals, fostering the adoption of scientific methods and educational renewal. These results suggest that interactions between European colonial forces and local society can indirectly facilitate the transformation of education and the development of intellectual life in Egypt.
