This study aims to determine the effect of work motivation on the performance of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) teachers in Samarinda City, both the degree of relationship and the magnitude of its contribution. This research uses a quantitative approach with a simple correlational-regression design. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 88 teachers and processed using SPSS. The analysis includes instrument validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests (normality and linearity), simple linear regression analysis, correlation test, hypothesis test (t-test), and the coefficient of determination test. The results show that the regression equation is Y = 43.570 + 0.487X, with a correlation coefficient of rxy = 0.592, indicating a moderate relationship between work motivation and teacher performance. The hypothesis test results in thitung (6.812) > ttabel (1.988) at a significance level of 5%, meaning that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. The coefficient of determination shows that work motivation contributes 35.05% to teacher performance, while the remaining 64.95% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study. The implications of this study indicate that enhancing work motivation needs to be a strategic priority for madrasah administrators achieved through offering appreciation, strengthening work support, fostering a conducive work environment, and developing opportunities for teachers to enhance their competence thereby driving sustainable improvements in teacher performance.
