This study aims to describe the instructional process for developing students' reading comprehension skills using the CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) model in the Indonesian language subject for Grade V students at SD Negeri 199/II Koto Jayo. The study originated from issues regarding the poor quality of the learning process and outcomes in Indonesian language lessons, as well as students' lack of interest in the subject. These factors resulted in low learning outcomes for Grade V students at the school. The objective of the study is to improve the learning process and outcomes through the application of the CIRC model. The study employs the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, with Grade V students serving as the subjects. It was conducted during the second (even) semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The research was carried out across several cycles, each comprising four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.
