This study aims to analyze the influence of macroeconomic conditions on investment decisions. Macroeconomic conditions such as inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and gross domestic product are important factors that influence investor considerations in determining investment decisions. This study used a qualitative descriptive method. The informants consisted of ten students of Universitas Tjut Nyak Dhien. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that macroeconomic conditions influence investment decisions through changes in purchasing power, investment returns, risk perception, and financial planning. Inflation encourages individuals to reconsider their investment choices because rising prices reduce purchasing power and increase daily living expenses. Interest rates influence the attractiveness of saving and investment instruments, while exchange rate fluctuations increase uncertainty, particularly in investments related to foreign currencies and capital markets. Gross domestic product reflects economic activity and public income, which may influence the ability and willingness to invest. The study also shows that students tend to prioritize basic needs and emergency savings before making investment decisions. Limited income, lack of financial knowledge, and uncertainty about economic conditions become obstacles to investment. Therefore, financial literacy and understanding of macroeconomic indicators are needed to support more rational and careful investment decisions.
