This study aimed to describe students' anecdotal text writing skills before and after the implementation of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model and to analyze its effect on the writing skills of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Lembah Gumanti. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 30 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a performance test of anecdotal text writing and analyzed descriptively and using the Wilcoxon test because the posttest data were not normally distributed and the variances were not homogeneous. The results showed that the mean writing score before treatment was 52.92, categorized as almost sufficient, while after the implementation of CPS it increased to 91.91, categorized as very good. In the pretest, the main weaknesses were the use of chronological and explanatory conjunctions, while the orientation indicator was relatively stronger. After CPS was implemented, almost all indicators improved and the orientation indicator reached a perfect qualification. The Wilcoxon test produced a positive rank sum of 465, a negative rank sum of 0, and Wcount=0, which was lower than Wtable=138 at α=0.05. Therefore, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. The findings indicate that CPS can assist students in identifying problems, generating ideas, selecting ideas, organizing text structure, and revising anecdotal texts systematically.
