Low students’ mathematical conceptual understanding remains a persistent challenge in mathematics learning, partly because instruction is still dominated by textbooks and interactive digital media are rarely utilized. Since conceptual understanding is fundamental to mastering advanced mathematical principles, evidence regarding interactive media that can enhance it is needed. This quantitative study aimed to determine the improvement in students’ mathematical conceptual understanding through the use of the Kahoot educational game. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Lamasi using a quasi-experimental method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample was selected through simple random sampling. Research instruments included a mathematical conceptual understanding test, learning implementation observation sheet, student activity observation sheet, and student response questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analyses. The results showed that students’ mathematical conceptual understanding before the implementation of the Kahoot educational game was categorized as very low, whereas after implementation, it increased to the moderate category. The average learning implementation score was categorized as very well implemented, student activity as very active, and student responses as good. Furthermore, a significant improvement in students’ mathematical conceptual understanding was found after using the Kahoot educational game. Therefore, the Kahoot educational game was effective in improving students’ mathematical conceptual understanding at SMP Negeri 1 Lamasi. These findings suggest that teachers can utilize Kahoot as an interactive learning medium to strengthen conceptual understanding and enhance student engagement. Future research should employ control groups, longer intervention periods, and varied mathematical topics to provide stronger evidence of its effectiveness
