This research aims to develop Canva-based interactive media for the Reading Music Notes subject in Music Arts at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Medan, which is effective in improving students' musical notation reading skills. This research used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The product had been validated by material and media experts before being used in the quasi-experiment. The effectiveness of the product is demonstrated by the higher average post-test scores in the experimental class compared to the control class. Students in the experimental class obtained an average score of 87.97, while students in the control class obtained an average score of 69.98. The average difference in learning outcomes between the two classes indicates a significant difference. The results of the hypothesis test using an independent sample t-test showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. Therefore, H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted, indicating a significant difference in musical notation learning outcomes between students learning using Canva-based musical notation learning media and those learning using Canva. These findings indicate that Canva-based interactive media for musical notation reading in the Music Arts subject can serve as an alternative innovative teaching medium at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Medan and significantly improving students' musical notation reading skills. This study also provides practical guidance for educators and future researchers in developing technology-based learning media.
