The research problem stems from the need for simple, specific, and measurable footwork drills tailored to the nature of kabaddi, which demands rapid acceleration, lateral movement, and changes in direction within a short period of time. Initial observations of Porprov Kabaddi athletes showed that 60% of athletes had a 30-meter sprint time of over 5 seconds and 70% had an Agility T-test time of over 15 seconds, indicating insufficient acceleration and agility. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Icky Shuffle exercise on the 30-meter sprint speed and agility (Agility T-test) of Porprov Kabaddi athletes. The study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 20 active athletes selected through total sampling. The intervention consisted of Icky Shuffle variation ladder drills for six weeks, with four sessions per week. Speed was measured using the 30-meter sprint test, while agility was measured using the Agility T-test. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and effect size calculations. The results showed that sprint time decreased from 5.03 ± 0.52 seconds to 4.78 ± 0.46 seconds (4.86%), while Agility T-test time decreased from 15.23 ± 1.56 seconds to 14.65 ± 1.56 seconds (3.72%). The Wilcoxon test revealed significant differences in both variables (p < 0.001) with a large effect size (r=0.88). The conclusion of this study confirms that the Icky Shuffle drill is effective as a footwork exercise for improving the speed and agility of Kabaddi athletes.
