This study aimed to examine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with geoboard media on elementary school students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities. A quasi-experimental approach was employed using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Class VA served as the experimental group, receiving PBL instruction assisted by geoboard media, while Class VB served as the control group, receiving the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model. Data were collected through essay tests administered during the pretest and posttest stages, developed based on indicators of mathematical problem-solving ability. The results showed that PBL assisted by geoboard media had a significant effect on improving students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities. Furthermore, differences in achievement were found between the two groups, with the experimental group demonstrating greater improvement than the control group. These findings indicate that the combination of PBL and geoboard media provides a more effective learning experience by supporting students in understanding mathematical concepts, exploring problems, and developing problem-solving strategies. Therefore, PBL assisted by geoboard media is more effective than the STAD model in improving mathematical problem-solving abilities among elementary school students.
