Child development is a holistic process that encompasses physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial aspects. One key indicator of development in elementary school-aged children is their ability to recognize and cultivate their intelligence and interests. Children’s intelligence and interests can develop optimally when supported by a conducive environment, both within the family and in educational institutions. However, the reality on the ground shows that not all children have adequate access to education, particularly in rural or underdeveloped areas. This study was conducted in Ciherang Village, Cianjur Regency, where initial observations indicated low educational quality and disparities in access to education. These conditions have resulted in suboptimal development of individual potential, particularly at the elementary school level. This study aims to describe the state of children’s learning interest and the development of their intellectual potential as an effort to improve the quality of human resources at the local level. The research findings indicate that the intellectual potential of students in Ciherang Village, Cianjur Regency, is generally positive. In addition, the students also demonstrate a fairly high level of interest in creative and social aspects. Nevertheless, the development of this potential still faces various obstacles, including the lack of relevant educational policies, limited educational facilities and infrastructure, and the lack of active involvement by parents and the community in supporting children’s learning processes.
