Abstract

RW 01 Cilangkap, East Jakarta, faces several community development challenges, including limited community participation in social activities, low awareness of educational and health issues, and the need to strengthen community-based economic initiatives. These conditions highlight the importance of implementing a participatory empowerment program that actively involves community members in identifying problems and developing sustainable solutions. This study aims to analyze the participatory-based community empowerment model implemented through the 22nd Community Service Program (KKN) of IPRIJA. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving community members as the population, with local leaders, residents, and KKN students selected as participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results indicate that the participatory approach increased community participation in educational, health, and economic empowerment activities, strengthened collaboration among community members, improved awareness of healthy living and educational support, and encouraged the initiation of household-based productive economic activities. Active community involvement throughout the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages also contributed to the sustainability of the empowerment programs. These findings demonstrate that the participatory-based community empowerment model is an effective approach for strengthening social capacity and promoting sustainable community development.
