Pontianak City has significant potential for the development of the Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition (MICE) industry, supported by the growth of educational, governmental, business, and service activities. However, there is currently no convention and exhibition facility capable of accommodating large-scale MICE events in an integrated manner. In addition, Tanjungpura University as the largest university in West Kalimantan, requires a facility that can accommodate both academic and non-academic activities, such as seminars, conferences, exhibitions, graduation ceremonies, and performances. Therefore, the design of the Convention and Exhibition Center Universitas Tanjungpura is proposed as a facility that supports MICE activities while also serving the needs of the university and the wider community. The design process was carried out through data collection, literature review, precedent studies, and analyses of functions, users and activities, spatial requirements, site conditions, circulation, form, structure, and building utilities. The results of these analyses were then translated into the design concept. The design outcome is a seven-story Convention and Exhibition Center equipped with an exhibition hall (1,000 m²), convention hall, main auditorium (550 seats), conference hall, meeting rooms, and supporting facilities. The building adopts a modern architectural approach and utilizes a structural system consisting of pile foundations, rigid frames, shear walls, and a 40-meter space frame roof to accommodate large-span spaces. This design is expected to become a representative MICE facility and a new landmark for Tanjungpura University and Pontianak City.
