Household waste management remains an environmental issue, including in Sukaratu Village, where waste is still commonly mixed at the source. This activity aimed to improve community understanding of waste management based on the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R) and to evaluate changes in understanding after education. The activity was conducted on August 4, 2026, at Sukaratu Village Hall using a descriptive approach involving socialization, discussion, and evaluation through a closed questionnaire consisting of nine questions. Fourteen participants attended the activity and completed both the pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed descriptively and using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test because one data group was not normally distributed. The results showed that the average understanding score increased from 70.1% in the pretest to 92.9% in the posttest, representing an increase of 22.8 percentage points. All participants (100%) experienced increased scores, and the Wilcoxon test indicated a significant difference between the pretest and posttest (p = 0.001). These findings suggest that socialization and discussion can improve understanding of 3R principles, particularly waste reduction, reuse, and segregation. However, further support is needed to ensure sustained behavioral changes and implementation in daily life.
