Stunting is a growth disorder associated with chronic nutritional deficiency, recurrent infections, parenting practices, and environmental conditions, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life. This community service activity through the Community Service Program aimed to improve mothers’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding environmental hygiene and adequate nutrition as part of early stunting prevention. The activity was conducted at Parung Serab Urban Village, Ciledug District, Tangerang City, targeting mothers of toddlers registered and actively participating in the health post. The method consisted of coordination with cadres, situation assessment, problem prioritization, preparation of educational media, health education, demonstration of proper handwashing with soap, provision of balanced nutrition menu examples, interactive discussion and questions and answers, and evaluation through observation and oral questioning. The initial assessment indicated that some mothers had limited knowledge about the relationship between environmental hygiene, nutritional status, and stunting risk. Consistent implementation of clean and healthy living behaviors, particularly handwashing with soap and household waste management, was also identified as an area requiring reinforcement. The activity integrated environmental and nutrition education with routine posyandu services and involved cadres as community mobilizers. Evaluation was conducted qualitatively by observing participant involvement and responses during discussion sessions. The activity demonstrated that posyandu-based education can serve as an appropriate community platform to strengthen mothers’ awareness and understanding of stunting prevention. Continuous education, growth monitoring, cadre strengthening, and consistent household implementation of clean and healthy living behaviors are recommended to sustain the benefits of the intervention.
