This study employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive method to examine: (1) students' skill levels in applying the contoured tucks technique in children's garment construction; (2) the quality of children's garments produced using the contoured tucks technique; and (3) the effect of students' skill levels on the quality of children's garment production. The research sample consisted of 39 students from the Diploma III Fashion Design Study Program, Department of Tourism and Hospitality, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Makassar, selected using the total sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, documentation, performance assessment, and product assessment. The results showed that: (1) 15 students (38.46%) demonstrated a good level of skill in applying the contoured tucks technique; (2) the quality of children's garments achieved an average score of 83.89%, which falls into the good category; and (3) simple linear regression analysis revealed that students' skill levels had a positive and significant effect on the quality of children's garment production (R = 0.705; R² = 0.497; p < 0.05). These findings indicate that improving students' practical skills contributes significantly to enhancing the quality of children's garments produced using the contoured tucks technique.
