SS400 steel is widely used in industry, but its surface is prone to quality degradation and therefore requires a protective coating with good adhesion strength, while spray pressure variation is known to affect coating quality. Studies on the effect of spray pressure variation on the adhesion strength and coating thickness of aluminum epoxy coating on SS400 steel are still limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of spray pressure variation (3, 4, and 5 bar) on adhesion strength and coating thickness on SS400 steel. An experimental method was used: SS400 steel specimens were first sandblasted and then coated with aluminum epoxy coating at each pressure variation, followed by testing using a pull-off test (ASTM D4541) for adhesion strength and a dry film thickness gauge for coating thickness. The results showed that the highest adhesion strength was obtained at 3 bar, amounting to 9.47 MPa, then decreased to 8.86 MPa at 4 bar and 8.61 MPa at 5 bar. Coating thickness showed a similar decreasing trend, from 73.7 μm at 3 bar to 73.4 μm at 4 bar and 72.9 μm at 5 bar. Overall, a spray pressure of 3 bar was the optimum parameter because it produced both the highest adhesion strength and the highest coating thickness among the three pressure variations tested
