The use of local medicinal plants as a promotional and preventive measure to maintain and support family health independence is still not optimal due to limited public knowledge regarding their benefits, processing methods, and correct and safe use. This condition was also found among the mothers of the Sabilambo Posyandu cadres in Kolaka Regency, who play a role in disseminating health information to the community. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of the mothers of the Sabilambo Posyandu cadres regarding the correct and safe use of local medicinal plants through education and joint practice of making herbal medicines (jamu). The implementation method included lectures, interactive discussions, demonstrations, and practice of making herbal medicines (jamu sinom and jamu manjaku). The results of the evaluation of the activity participants (n=10) showed an increase in knowledge with the percentage of correct answers from 83% in the pre-test to 98% in the post-test, which indicates an increase in participant knowledge in the good category. This activity increased the understanding of the Sabilambo Posyandu cadres regarding the description of medicinal plants, benefits, processing, and safe and correct use of local medicinal plants. This program is expected to support family health independence and strengthen the role of Posyandu cadres as agents of sustainable health education in the community through the use of local medicinal plants.
