This study aimed to determine whether the use of the Quizlet application is more effective than conventional teaching methods in improving students’ English vocabulary mastery. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design involving an experimental class and a control class. The population consisted of all seventh-grade students of MTsN 4 Sinjai, and the sample was selected through cluster random sampling, resulting in 40 students, consisting of 20 students in the experimental class and 20 students in the control class. The experimental class was taught using the Quizlet application, whereas the control class was taught through the conventional teaching method. The research instrument consisted of a vocabulary test. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Levene’s test for homogeneity of variance, the homogeneity of regression slopes test, and Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). The findings revealed a significant difference in students’ English vocabulary mastery between the experimental and control classes after controlling for the pre-test scores, with a significance value of p < 0.000. The adjusted mean score of the experimental class was 82.28, while the adjusted mean score of the control class was 63.22, indicating that the use of the Quizlet application was more effective than the conventional teaching method in improving students’ English vocabulary mastery.
