This study explores the readiness of the ethics committee at Bhakti Husada Mulia Institute to transition from manual to web-based archive management using the SIM-EPK system. The research aims to assess the preparedness of committee administrators and reviewers in adapting to digital document management. To assess the readiness of human resources (administrators and reviewers) within the ethics committee at Bhakti Husada Mulia Institute in transitioning from a manual to a web-based system for managing research protocol document archives using SIM-EPK. Using a quantitative method with a pretest – posttest design, data were collected from all 24 committee members via an online questionnaire. The findings indicate a strong preference for web-based systems: 91.66% chose digital protocol management, 83.33% found it more flexible for completing ethics protocols, and 100% agreed that web-based systems ease access and retrieval of documents. However, despite these advantages, the web-based process sometimes took longer than manual procedures. This study concludes that digital adoption is promising, although further improvements are needed to streamline operations and ensure full integration. These results can serve as a model for other institutions undergoing digital transformation in research ethics administration. The ethics committee at BHM shows a high level of readiness for digital transformation using SIM-EPK. Web-based systems offer clear benefits in accessibility and document control, though technical and human factors still cause delays. Continued improvements and scaling strategies are needed to fully optimize digital ethics management across institutions.
