This study aims to describe the early reading skills of Phase A elementary school students and to analyze the effect of digital flashcard media on improving their early reading skills. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 35 students selected through purposive sampling, divided into an experimental class and a control class. The experimental class received instruction using digital flashcards, while the control class was taught through conventional methods. Both groups were given a pretest before treatment and a posttest after treatment to measure changes in early reading skills. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical tests and prerequisite tests, including the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Levene’s homogeneity test. The normality test results indicated that the data were normally distributed (significance value > 0.05), while the homogeneity test results showed that the data had homogeneous variance (significance value > 0.05). Hypothesis testing was carried out using the Independent Samples t-Test, which revealed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, H₀ was rejected and H₁ accepted. It can be concluded that digital flashcard-based learning media has a significant effect on improving the early reading skills of Phase A students at SDN No. 49 Inpres Pasanggrahan.
