Abstract

In carrying out their duties and authorities, a notary is required to comply with various legal provisions governing their profession. One of the main principles that must be upheld by a notary is the principle of independence as stipulated in Law Number 2 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 30 of 2004 concerning Notary Position (UUJN). This research uses normative research methods. The reason for using normative research in this study is because in the problem under study, the author will identify Notary Independence in Legal Practice in Indonesia Based on the Notarial Law. Notaries must maintain neutrality, namely not taking sides with one party or certain interests, so as not to damage the principle of public trust in the notary profession. The Notary Position Law has provided a strong legal basis for notaries to carry out their duties independently and professionally.
