This study aims to analyze the principal's strategy in improving teacher performance through the coaching method at SD Negeri Nayu Surakarta. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the principal implements coaching as the primary strategy to improve teacher performance through a reflective, collaborative, and teacher-centered approach that emphasizes individual potential development. The coaching process is systematically implemented based on the POAC management functions (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling). The novelty of this study lies in integrating the coaching approach with the POAC management framework as a comprehensive leadership strategy for sustainable teacher professional development. The coaching method has proven effective in fostering teachers' self-awareness, intrinsic motivation, and professional competence through a humanistic and participatory approach. The findings imply that coaching can serve as an alternative school leadership strategy for strengthening teacher performance, improving instructional quality, and supporting sustainable educational management in primary schools
