This study was motivated by the low level of students' interest in learning Arabic in Class VIIA at Thariqul Hidayah Islamic Junior High School, caused by low learning motivation, monotonous teaching methods, and limited instructional innovation. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Index Card Match method on students' interest in learning Arabic. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest–posttest control group was employed. The sample consisted of 34 students selected through simple random sampling and divided equally into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation and analyzed using the Paired Sample t-test after meeting the normality assumption. The findings revealed a significant increase in students' learning interest in the experimental group after the implementation of the Index Card Match method (p = 0.000 < 0.05). The method encouraged active participation, improved interaction, and created a more engaging learning environment than conventional instruction. The findings imply that the Index Card Match method can serve as an effective active-learning strategy for Arabic teachers to enhance students' learning interest and classroom engagement and may also be adapted to other subjects requiring interactive learning
