This study aimed to analyze the welfare conditions of honorary early childhood education (PAUD) teachers from a human resource management perspective in Makassar City. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 15 respondents consisting of school principals/managers and honorary PAUD teachers. Data were collected through open-ended questionnaires and brief interviews, then analyzed using an interactive qualitative analysis model including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the welfare of honorary PAUD teachers remains inadequate, as indicated by low salaries, limited social security and work protection, lack of performance appreciation, and limited opportunities for professional development. Nevertheless, honorary teachers still demonstrated high work motivation due to their dedication to early childhood education. The study concludes that stronger support from the government and educational institutions is needed through improved salaries, provision of social security, continuous professional training, and better reward systems to enhance teacher welfare and the quality of PAUD services.
