Abstract

Sugihmukti Village in Pasirjambu District, Bandung Regency, was designated a pioneer tourism village in 2022, but its tourism promotion remains unstructured. The newly established Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) faces limited skills in digital marketing, content production, and social media management. This community service activity aimed to improve the capacity of tourism managers and residents to utilize social media for tourism development and competitiveness. Conducted on 26 August 2026, the activity employed a participatory educational approach comprising four stages: needs identification, material delivery, discussion and question-and-answer sessions, and evaluation with follow-up planning. The materials covered platform selection, visual content strategies, influencer collaboration, local uniqueness, successful tourism village practices, and social media management challenges. The results indicated improved participant understanding of social media as an affordable promotional tool with broad reach. Participants also identified local tourism potential suitable for promotional content. However, limited internet access, inconsistent content production, and insufficient human resources remained significant challenges. Four recommendations emerged: maintaining a regular content schedule, prioritizing Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, involving residents and local entrepreneurs in content creation, and providing continuous digital training. Further mentoring through practical content production and account performance evaluation is recommended to strengthen Pokdarwis’ independence in managing sustainable digital tourism promotion.
