This study aims to analyze the factors influencing Arabic speaking skills among students at the Islamic boarding school (pesantren), particularly in terms of obstacles, motivation, learning strategies, and the learning environment. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach, in which a questionnaire was distributed to 43 participants. The results showed that the main obstacle in speaking Arabic is psychological factors, namely the fear of making mistakes, which is further reinforced by the lack of a supportive environment and limited vocabulary mastery. In addition, the most effective time for practicing speaking skills is in a comfortable atmosphere with friends, which can enhance courage in communication. Students also demonstrated various strategies to overcome difficulties, such as using a dictionary and consulting their mentor, although they still require more intensive assistance. The main motivation for learning comes from within oneself, especially the desire to understand Arabic-language books (kitab), which serves as the primary driving factor. Therefore, efforts to improve Arabic speaking skills should focus on creating a conducive environment, enhancing self-confidence, enriching vocabulary, and applying varied and communicative teaching methods.
