<![CDATA[This study explores physical education teachers’ experiences of implementing online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic at MA NWDI Lepak and MTs NWDI Lepak, East Lombok, Indonesia. A qualitative phenomenological approach was used. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, involving two physical education teachers as the main informants and school leaders and students as supporting informants. The findings show that teachers simplified emergency lesson plans, selected essential learning materials, and delivered instructions mainly through asynchronous WhatsApp Groups and printed student worksheets (LKS). This arrangement reflected students’ limited internet data, unstable network access, and unequal access to smartphones. Assessment relied largely on written assignments, worksheet completion, timeliness, and submitted evidence. Teachers considered this assessment less adequate for measuring movement skills, yet regarded it as a practical compromise to sustain learning and protect students’ safety during the crisis. The experience also encouraged reflection on flexible pedagogy, creative learning media, and the need to strengthen teachers’ digital and pedagogical competencies. The study highlights the importance of context-sensitive online physical education that accounts for infrastructure, subject-specific learning outcomes, and equitable access.]]>
