أن لكل مرحلة عمرية خصائصها النفسية والعقلية بل إن الأفراد يختلفون فيما بينهم من قدرات عقلية وسمات نفسية داخل المرحلة العمرية الواحدة، ومن هنا ظهر مبدأ الفروق الفردية المتصلة بنمو الدارسين والذي ينبغي مراعاته عند إعداد واختيار المواد التعليمية
