Abstract

The problem in this study relates to students' needs for interesting learning media. The purpose of this study was to produce interactive multimedia-based learning media, describe the attractiveness of media products, and test the effectiveness of media products in class VII in learning descriptive texts. The research method used was the DDD-E model namely Decide, Design, Develop, and Evaluate. In collecting the data, this research used interviews and questionnaires in three schools . The results of the study showed that (1) interactive multimedia-based learning is successfully develop; (2) overall, the learning media was declared very attractive by students in three schools; (3) learning media are quite effective to be used in the learning process of descriptive texts with the average N-Gain category being medium.Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini berkaitan dengan kebutuhan siswa terhadap media pembelajaran yang menarik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah menghasilkan media pembelajaran berbasis multimedia interaktif, mendeskripsikan kemenarikan produk media, dan menguji efektivitas produk media di kelas VII pada pembelajaran teks deskripsi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah model DDD-E, yaitu Decide, Design, Develop, dan Evaluate. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara dan penyebaran angket di tiga sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) berhasil dikembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis multimedia interaktif; (2) media pembelajaran secara keseluruhan dinyatakan sangat menarik oleh siswa pada tiga sekolah; dan (3) media pembelajaran cukup efektif untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran teks deskripsi dengan rata-rata N-Gain kategori sedang.Kata kunci: media pembelajaran, multimedia interaktif, teks deskripsi
