Abstract

The business value of information technology (IT) services is often difficult to assess, especially from the point of view of a non-IT manager. This condition could severely impact organizational IT strategic decisions. Various approaches have been proposed to quantify the business value, but some are trapped in technical complexity while others misguide managers into directly and subjectively judging some technical entities outside their domain of expertise. This paper describes a method on how to properly capture both perspectives based on a  probabilistic business-driven model. The proposed model presents a procedure to calculate the business value of IT services. The model also covers IT security services and their business value as an important aspect of IT services that is not covered in previously published researches. The impact of changes in the quality of IT services on business value will also be discussed. A simulation and a case illustration are provided to show the possible application of the proposed model for a simple business process in an enterprise.

Abstract

Parking information systems have become very important, especially in metropolitan areas as they help to save time, effort and fuel when searching for parking. This paper offers a novel low-cost deep learning approach to easily implement vacancy detection at outdoor parking spaces with CCTV surveillance. The proposed method also addresses issues due to perspective distortion in CCTV images. The architecture consists of three classifiers for checking the availability of parking spaces. They were developed on the TensorFlow platform by re-training MobileNet (a pre-trained Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)) model using the transfer learning technique. A performance analysis showed 88% accuracy for vacancy detection. An end-to-end application model with Internet of Things (IoT) and an Android application is also presented. Users can interact with the cloud using their Android application to get real-time updates on parking space availability and the parking location. In the future, an autonomous car could use this system as a V2I (Vehicle to Infrastructure) application in deciding the nearest parking space.

Abstract

This paper attempted to examine the extent of use of information technology among Philippine hotels, their speed in adopting technology, the degree to which these hotels actually use new technology; and to investigate factors that influence their decision to adopt or not technology. The study found that Philippine hotels, though quite late in technology adoption, own a mix of information technologies that appear to slant towards improving guest service. The intrinsic characteristics of technology seem to be the main factor in the decision to adopt technology while IT illiteracy and the prohibitive cost are the main reasons for non-adoption. The research likewise affirmed that ownership structure and firm size positively affect adoption behavior. The results manifest organizational rationalism and recognize the power of social and cultural forces to shape IT adoption behavior. Possible implications were raised regarding strategies that address IT literacy and cost, and enhancing absorptive capacity of small hotels.

Abstract

Information technology has been considered as a vital tool  for modern organizations  to support their knowledge management projects. Previous studies have found that success knowledge management projects were supported by various information technology infrastructures. They addressed how information technology has succesfully implemented to support knowledge management project within conventional banks. However, limited study has been proposed regarding how information technology play roles in support knowledge management project within Islamic banks. Through the case study approach, the author studied the use of information technology for knowledge management process within two Bank Syariah (Bank Mandiri and Bank BNI Syariah) in Palu Central Sulawesi. The author collected data through observation, written material, and  in-depth interviews with key informants from both banks. The findings show that information technology infrastructures have played important roles in support knowledge management projects within the Islamic banks. Those information technology infrastructures includes internet, intranet, websites, communication application such as email, and social media.  This study sheds light and provides new insight on how information technology has succesfully used to support knowledge management within Islamic banks. The results benefits both academic and practioners in Islamic banks and knowledge managemet area. As the social media was an important finding for knowledge management in Islamic banks,  future research need to focus on how social media should be used for knowledge management projects in Islamic banks

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the analysis of accounting information control system of internal. Based on the measurement scale Gutman, accounting information system of the internal control values obtained revenues amounting to 85.71%. This value is compared with the measurement criteria of accounting information systems with the scale Gutman including a sufficient criterion. The role of information systems in the UPT Puskesmas akuntani Karangbinangun been done adequately. Inadequate system of accounting information obtained can be identified that the management of the elements of accounting information system, the purpose of accounting information system, and the function of accounting information system has run as much as possible. So as to provide pengolalaan adequate accounting information system. Accounting information systems to work toward internal control at revenue has been done adequately. Internal control plans and methods of income is against (the elements of accounting information systems, the purpose of accounting information systems, and accounting information systems function) conducted by the internal to control income derived from activities done in a period, which will produce reliable financial statements concerning effective and efficient revenue. The results of this study, for accounting information systems at implementation should be further improved so that easier to carry out daily operations ranging from data collection, classification of data, data storage, and surveillance data to health centers can provide a more adequate control to keep the health center assets. So that the internal control income must remain in place and be effected again, so that the financial statements more valid, effective and efficient.

Abstract

With the rapid development of informatics where thousands of informatics journals have been made, a new problem has occured where grouping these journals manually has become too difficult and expensive. The writer proposes using text classification for grouping these informatics journals. This research examines the combinations of two machine learning methods, K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) and Modified K-Nearest Neighbors with two feature selection methods, Gini Index (GI) and Mutual Information (MI) to determine the model that produces the higherst evaluation score. The data are informatics journals stored in pdf files where they are given one of 3 designated labels: Information Retrieval, Database or Others. 252 data were collected from the websites, neliti.com and garuda.ristekbrin.go.id. This research examines and compares which of the two methods, KNN and MKNN at classifying informatics journal as well as determining which combination of parameters and feature selection that produces the best result. This research finds that the combination of method and feature selection that produces the best evaluation score is MKNN with GI as feature selection producing precision score, recall score and f1-score of 97.7%

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to develop the use of the right and left brain in early childhood through the implementation of information technology in this case learning using video with words. Education in learning that is done must keep up with the times by utilizing information technology we often mention with the era of revolution 4.0. Research methods use descriptive qualitative methods by means of observation and interview of teachers, Then the data obtained in the test using spss for windows with a population of 60 early childhood results obtained Fcount = 23,347 > Ftable = 3.16 so it can be said that the implementation of information technology in learning in the form of video display is very good in the development of the right and left brain in each individual early childhood.
