Abstract

Targum merupakan terjemahan Kitab Suci lbrani ke dalam bahasa Aram agar jemaat makin mudah memahami teks suci yang ditulis dalam bahasa suci, bahasa lbrani. Selain itu, targum juga menyisipkan ideologinya sendiri ke dalam terjemahannya sehingga seluruh fokus teks bisa berubah total. Begitulah - umpamanya - Targum Pseudo-Jonathan mengolah Kej 22:1- 19, kisah mengenai pengorbanan Ishak. Penyusun targum mengolah teks lbrani demikian: Dengan memperluas teks lbrani, Ps-Jon membuat teks suci menjadi lebih dapat dimengerti, tetapi sekaligus mengubah fokus kisah.  Dalam teks lbrani, kisah ini dilihat sebagai kisah tentang iman Abraham, tetapi dalam Ps-Jon tokoh utamanya adalah Ishak yang secara sukarela menjadi korban bakaran. Pengorbanan Ishak ini disejajarkan dengan praktik korban di Bait Allah. Teks suci menjadi khotbah kerakyatan – Suatu inspirasi bagi kita untuk mewartakan kabar keselamatan pada zaman sekarang ini. Apakah kepentingan, kegelisahan, dan harapan jemaat menjadi titik tolak pewartaan kita, atau sebaliknya kerangka teologis teoritis yang kita utamakan.

Abstract

The word eugenic comes from Greek words eu + genes (eugenes) which means wellborn or good in birth. Although the word eugenics was coined only in 1883 by Francis Galtom, the practice of eugenics dated back at least to Plato. It reached its peak in the filst half of 20th century, especially during Hitler's time. Hitler tried to purify Arian race by eliminating Jews, homosexual person, hippies, handicapped person etc. From that time on, the word eugenics has a negative connotation. Unfortunately, eugenics was reborn in our time where the technological developments grow rapidly. Eugenic reemerges in various new forms and various situations such as abortion, assisted reproduction, pre natal diagnostic, cloning, genetic engineering and genomic mapping. The problems of eugenic relate mainly to justice, equality between genders, definition of good - bad and above all it relates with the basic human right to live.

Abstract

In his double treatise, Contra Gentes and De Incarnatione, Athanasius proposes a Logos Christology from the soteriological perspective. According to him, Christ is the Logos of God, Father’s proper ‘offspring’, the only Father’s Begotten Son, the ‘Unchanging Image’ of the Father. Christ as the Logos of God does God’s works, both Creation, Providence and Salvation’s works. In His Salvation work, by the works indicated through His human body, Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Logos, does the God’s works, reveals God ‘who is good’, ‘who is the lover of humanity’, to human that fall into sin. Jesus surrenders His own body as an offering and a sacrifice for the sake of salvation of all creation.

Abstract

Industrialized society has been greatly driven by major economical and political powers. Science and technology, human resources, competition, social welfare, political participation and tolerance are widely discussed topics. Meanwhile "non-commercial" issues such as human dignity, love, justice, solidarity and social responsibility have been very much down-toned. Pragmatism was introduced consistently and through the insistence of massmedia propaganda a new way of life was born with marks of materialism, hedonism, consumerism and individualism. Undermining others and reality of the progressive natural destruction show the existence of the so-called ”culture of death". Sadly, injustice and violence have been globalized. Amid these situations, love, justice and social responsibility have to be reflected seriously and reintroduced.
