Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacturing industry in the field of shoe manufacturing. In the production process, waste is still found that results in defects in shoe products. This can be seen in the shoe production process in 2023 as many as 74200 pairs, there are 1372 pairs of defective shoes. This study aims to determine the waste that occurs in the shoe production process, determine the value of sigma, and minimize defects and waste and reduce activities that do not provide added value. This study used the lean six sigma method. The study began by identifying the waste that occurs in the shoe production process with the most dominant waste, namely defects. The level of sigma capability obtained in the shoe production process at PT. XYZ is 4.10 with a DPMO value of 4646 in the good category for the Indonesian Industry average. Furthermore, analysis was carried out to identify the cause of defects with fishbone diagrams. Proposed improvements using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) tool. With the design of process activity mapping (PAM) and big picture mapping, lead time can be reduced from 1060.43 minutes to 1000.30 minutes.

Abstract

CV. XYZ is a company that produces various types of spunbond bags. In the production process, the company still experiences problems related to the number of defective products, namely 5%. This research aims to determine the level of defects and factors causing defects using the Seven Tools method, as well as providing suggestions for improvements to reduce the level of defects using the Kaizen 5M Checklist and Kaizen 5S methods. The most common levels of spunbond bag product defects were 8762 pcs of bad screen printing defects, 5059 pcs of sloppy stitching defects, 3715 pcs of dirty defects and 3548 wrong cutting defects. Factors that cause product defects are lack of accuracy and skill of workers, lack of compliance with production methods or standard operating procedures (SOP), equipment and lighting conditions that are not optimal, and work environments that are less than clean. In this way, several recommendations for improvements in human factors, machines, raw materials, methods and work environment are proposed, as well as the implementation of 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke).

Abstract

This research aims to optimize existing project schedule plans so that time can be used more effectively and efficiently. Through the method used, it is hoped that we can find out the sequence of methods that can provide optimal results for the needs of the production acceleration aspect in project schedule planning at PT X Indonesia. This research uses quantitative methods by processing data obtained from the company. The method that will be used in this analysis is the Project Evaluation Review Technique (PERT). After processing the data using the Project Evaluation Review Technique method, it can be seen that there are 6 critical jobs. From the calculation results obtained at Z = 3.55, the Z value on the normal distribution curve is 0.9998 so that the probability that the project can be completed in 213 days is 99.98%. This means the project can be completed 16 days faster than it should be, where initially the project could be completed in 229 days.

Abstract

A hospital is a health service that carries out health efforts and improves public health. One of the private hospitals located in Surabaya already has full accreditation. However, in reality, the implementation of health services in this private hospital is often faced with various challenges, namely the length of waiting time, lack of therapy personnel and physiotherapy service facilities, and lack of service information provided by nurses which causes some waste. Based on the above problems, the lean service method is used to reduce waste in the process of providing physiotherapy services. Identification of waste is done using the Value Stream Mapping method. Activity mapping will be done by Process Activity Mapping method and to find out the critical waste will be done by questionnaire processing. The results obtained are critical waste or the most common are waiting and duplication. After being given a proposal for improvement, the lead time which was originally 6883 seconds can decrease to 4409 seconds. It is hoped that this research can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the physiotherapy service process at the Private Hospital.

Abstract

Soft clay type soil has a low bearing capacity; therefore, a special handling is required by performing soil stabilization. The case study in this research is located in the construction project of Jalan Lingkar Utara (JLU) Lamongan Regency STA 1+000 s/d STA 1+100. The soil stabilization method carried out in this research is using a chemical method that combines fosroc cebex-100 and class C fly ash. 3 variations of the percentage combination of stabilizers used are 20% fly ash + 0.45% fosroc cebex-100 for variation 1, 25% fly ash + 0.45% fosroc cebex-100 for variation 2 and 30% fly ash + 0.45% fosroc cebex-100 for variation 3. The results of this study show that along with the increase in the composition of the combination of stabilizers in the soil can cause an influence on the physical properties of the soil, namely a decrease in the value of water content, specific gravity, Atterberg boundaries, and soil plasticity index. Meanwhile, the mechanical properties of the soil show an increase in the CBR value as the proportion of stabilizers used increases. The original soil CBR value of 5.87% increased to 8.23% in variation 1, to 6.44% in variation 2, and to 6.06% in variation 3.

Abstract

Clay soil is a type of cohesive soil with low bearing strength, so it requires improvement through a stabilization process. The aim of this research is to identify changes in the physical and mechanical properties of soil with the addition of geopolymer composed of fly ash and alkali activator. The case study in this research is the Lamongan STA 1+270 northern ring road project. The geopolymer variation used consists of fly ash with percentages of 10%, 15% and 20%, with alkali activator sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) 8M with a ratio of 1:1. The test method applied in this research involves testing physical and mechanical properties, including measuring water content, specific gravity, Atterberg limit, plasticity index, and California bearing ratio (CBR) in the laboratory. This research shows that the addition of 15% fly ash and alkali activator provides the most optimal CBR value of 8.23%, an increase from the original soil CBR value of 5.87%. This CBR value indicates that the addition of geopolymer to soft soil can improve the characteristics of the soil. This research concludes that the use of geopolymer can improve the quality of clay soil.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMK) play a role in producing workers who are ready to compete in the industrial world. To produce high-quality graduates, the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure is a key supporting factor. SMK Islam 1 Blitar is one of the schools designated as a Center of Excellence (PK) and has the responsibility of producing high-quality graduates. This study aims to describe the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMK Islam 1 Blitar in supporting its role as an SMK PK. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the management of facilities and infrastructure at this school is effective through the stages of planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. These findings are important for studying the management of SMK PKs in efforts to improve the quality of graduates so that they possess competencies aligned with the needs of the workforce and industry.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the effectiveness of the Vocational Training Center (BLK) in improving the quality of the workforce in Blitar City. The research method used was a qualitative approach with field research, enabling the researcher to gain an in-depth understanding of the actual conditions on the ground. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation, which were then validated through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time to ensure the validity of the information obtained. Based on the research results, the existence of the VTC has proven to be quite effective in supporting the improvement of workforce competencies. This effectiveness is evident in the provision of adequate facilities and infrastructure, the readiness of organizers in designing training programs, and the quality of instructors who possess relevant skills and experience. With this support, training graduates are expected to be able to compete in the job market. However, BLK also faces several challenges that require further attention. These challenges include limited funding, suboptimal human resource management, coordination issues among relevant parties, and a weak training evaluation system. These factors pose challenges in maintaining the consistency and sustainability of the training programs conducted by BLK.

Abstract

CV. Serba Jaya Oke is a manufacturing company engaged in the production of plastic household appliances. In its operations, the company experienced difficulties in achieving production targets. This research was conducted to analyze the productivity of production units from January to December 2023 to understand partial productivity levels and develop recommendations for improvement. The methods in this research are objective matrix (OMAX), analytical hierarchy process (AHP), traffic light system, fishbone diagram, and 5W+1H. From this research, it is known that the highest productivity index value was in August 2023, namely 311,2%, while the lowest value occurred in December 2023 with a productivity index of -82,9%. Suggestions for improvement were given to the five productivity measurement criteria because these criteria had poor scores in certain periods. By applying this method, companies can increase partial productivity and identify triggers for decreased productivity in certain periods.

Abstract

PT. Petrokimia Gresik, the most comprehensive fertilizer agro-industry company in Indonesia, produces a product called Filler Plus, which requires dolomite as a raw material. Amid pressure from the government, especially on environmental issues, companies are creating production strategies that are environmentally friendly but also prioritize economic factors (economic profits) and the impact on the social environment. One of these strategies can be done by selecting the right supplier. This research evaluates supplier performance based on sustainable aspects (economic, environmental, social) using the cut-off point method for selecting sub-criteria, FAHP for weighting sub-criteria, and TOPSIS for ranking suppliers based on predetermined sub-criteria. This study uses qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research results show that supplier S2 is ranked highest with a coefficient value of 0.826, followed by S3 (0.442), S4 (0.357), and S1 (0.256). This study can serve as a basis for strategic decision-making in selecting sustainable dolomite suppliers by considering the most relevant criteria and sub-criteria.
