Abstract

There are a plenty of unexploited resources that lies underwater that covers almost 75% of the earth. In order to utilise them, the field of underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSN) is attracting the  researchers to extend their thoughts in this field. The wireless sensor networks are heavy networks that consist of small low cost sensors that have a large amount of solving ability and energy resources which can be applicable in any type of irregular environments irrespective of changing conditions. Keeping in view of the real-time remote data transferring requirements, underwater acoustic sensor networks (UASN) has been recognised as a preferred network because it satisfies all aspects of data transfer. In UASN, the required availability and recycling of energy resources along with specified utilisation of data with the help of utilized sensor nodes for energy requirements that are necessary are done for the development of  further theories in these contexts. Due to these causes, the maximum underwater resources utilisation techniques mainly depends on UAN (Underwater Acoustic Networks).Underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) suitable for applications on submarine detection and monitoring, where nodes collect data with a mobile autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) via optical communications, and applied accordingly to deal with further approaches. They provide continuous monitoring for various applications like ocean sampling network, pollution monitoring, submarine detection, disaster prevention etc. This paper particularly deals with a brief collection of the UWSN applications and some of the algorithms for the path finding in order to pass  maximum valued information(VOI) among the different nodes.

Abstract

A Huge amount of data is manipulated by using the web application, Facebook, Twitter, social sites etc. Most of the data are unstructured data. It is not desirable for storing, performing and analyzing data in the relational database for huge data. It affords way towards performing NoSQL database and uses fully for handling the big data. In this paper, we present the performance in store and query operation in NoSQL database, estimating the performance of both reads and write operation using simple and complex queries. Result represents that comparing Cassandra with relation database, Cassandra outperforms the relation database. Most of the organization used only Hbase and Cassandra for benefit of cost. Comparison Various NoSQL Database, issues while performing NoSQL database.

Abstract

Current studies show that there is no comprehensive adoption model in e-learning systems in universities. This problem opens up to too much debates about which models and frameworks fit well in an e-learning environment particularly in universities in Tanzania. This paper answers the two debatable questions, which are:(1) what are the factors that affect adoption of e-learning systems in Tanzania’s universities, (2) what is the comprehensive e-learning adoption model in universities in Tanzania. This research study adapts DeLone and McLean (2003) IS model after an extensive literature reviews conducted in information systems and in e-learning systems. The findings from this research will add up to literature of limited factors’ model and it will open it up for validation in a different universities’ application domain.

Abstract

Personalized e-learning systems based on recommender systems refines enormous amount of data and provides suggestions on learning resources which is appealing to the learner. Although, the recommender systems depends on content based approach or collaborative filtering technique to make recommendations, these methods suffers from cold start and data sparsity problems. To overcome the limitations of the aforementioned problems, a weight based approach is proposed for better performance. The main criterion for building a personalized recommender system is to exploit useful content and provide better recommendations with minimal processing time. The proposed system is a web based client side application which uses user profiles to form neighborhoods and calculates predictions using weights. For newcomers a profile is constructed based on learning styles. The resources which might be of interest to the user are predicted from calculated predictions.

Abstract

The evolution towards 5G networks is expected to slake the growing thirst of internet traffic with improved Quality of Service (QoS) and reduced energy consumption and cost. The increased penetration of smart devices and induction of arising multimedia applications, together with high quality video services are already crafting a milestone on existing cellular networks. These surging demands dictate that radical enhancements need to be made in cellular architecture to drift towards ultra-dense networks. The 5G system is envisioned to achieve improved data rate, increased capacity, decreased latency, and enhanced spectral efficiency in order to provide technical solution for the challenges behind the cellular networks. Thus, the 5G era is emerging to quench the increasing demand for network capacity, to manage explosive growth of traffic patterns and to face the challenges caused by the proliferation of versatile applications and high-end devices. In this paper, we make a broad survey on 5G cellular network architecture and some of the promising key technologies such as cloud RAN (Radio Access Network), Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and modulation formats. Finally, this ground-breaking survey highlights major existing research issues and possible future research directions in the next new era of mobile wireless networks.

Abstract

Under some circumstances, hospitals and clinics need to know the preliminary patient’s disease categorization, such as H1N1, Dengue, HIV/AIDS and others. However, categorizing patients will be useful in the future if the hospitals  properly recorded their patient criteria and crucial details such as patient’s name, symptoms, temperature and others. There are many benefits by grouping the patients together such as the hospitals will know how to provide an appropriate medicine to the patient, which patient will get the highest priority and should be quarantined.  It is very important to know how to group the patients by using their symptoms detected. This study will focus on patients with cancer problems using Jaccard index and Venn diagram techniques. Their data will be collected from a hospital and the patients are selected randomly. Patients with lungs, brain and breast cancer will be selected in this study.

Abstract

Technologies are advancing at incredible speed with great purposes. Unfortunately, as technologies grow, some people have lost their motivation to keep up with their health by neglecting their physical activities like sports, outdoor games, etc. There are less people willing to step outside to do physical activities especially those which requires companions or members. We cannot deny the fact that there are still people who are willing to come out and do sports in a group. However, most of the time they do not have enough members to conduct the sport. This situation can lead to discouragement and stopping them from doing any more sports activity just because of insufficient team member. This situation can lead to discouragement and stopping them from doing any more sports activity just because of insufficient team members. The Sports Team Finder is a mobile application that helps the students in Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) to reach other people who has the same intention, i.e., to get team members. Students can use this application to find team members for team-oriented games such as basketball, football, netball, etc. The aim is to design an application where it motivate users to engage other people through sports and meeting new friends along the way. The application is able to function properly and successfully gather users with similar interest together. It has shown that the application has caused an improvement of sport involvement among students in UTHM.

Abstract

In this Digital world storage area capacity required for an Enterprise is quite huge, and processing that Big Data is one of the major challenging areas in today’s information technology. As the heterogeneous data from the various sources grow rapidly, there should be some proficient way for data storage for each enterprise. Most of the Enterprises have a tendency to migrate their data in to servers with high processing capability to handle variety and voluminous data. Major problem that arises in such big data servers of an Enterprise is the process involved in segregating data according to their types. In this research, an efficient methodology is proposed which handles the segregation of data inside a server with multi valued distribution-based clustering. These clustering-based solutions provide an efficient visualization of varying data in the server and also a separate visualization of employee data too. The paper discusses about the simulation of the clustering technique with respect to an Enterprise data and visualization of file storage structure and categorization of data, also it gives a picture of performance of the Big data server.
