Raheema (P-ISSN: 2502-812X and E-ISSN: 2502-8111) is a scientific journal Gender and Children, published by the Center for the Study of Gender and Children (PSGA) Institute for Research and Services In the Community (LP2M) State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Pontianak. This journal contains the works of authors and researchers who have competence in their skills. A vision of the journal Raheema is: Realizing the scientific community who have vision, knowledge, awareness, and concern about Gender and Children. While the mission of the journal Raheema is: First, Being the Information Center and the study of science on Gender and Children for all academics and the general public. Second, Making Media Journal Raheema as scientific publications Gender and Child-quality, innovative and competitive locally, nationally, and internationally. Third, to accommodate, to develop the knowledge, insight, and ideas of the author and researcher in the field of Gender and Children. Raheema journal is published twice a year, namely in June and December.

Abstract

Women have an important role in national development. One way to make room for women in the national development process is by provide a space for them to be more empowered. With the empowerment of women, especially women in the countryside, hopefully they can be more productive, have the courage to take risks in business,self-sustainability, because women will tend to be more independent if they have income and economic activity. Women as part of society should be able to help themselves in different ways, especially with regard to their survival.This paper discusses the model of Grassroots Islamic Microfinance which is a model of Islamic-based financing institution forpoor families but productive especially for women in the countryside who does nothave an opportunity to obtain financing support from commercial microfinance such as banks. This model is an effort to encourage, provide access for women on countryside especially on capitalization, so that they can be more productive and independent in an effort to prosper themselves, their families and the general public.

Abstract

The position and condition of women in Indonesia are considerably far from men, especially in some aspects of life as social, politics, economics, education, and culture. This phenomenon, furthermore, portrays that women is still in a marginal state. Therefore, there should be a special treatment to avoid such problems. The women themselves could gain a special care seriously. They could work on creative economy sectors, for instance because of 14 aspects of creative economy that will be introduced in this article.

Abstract

To begin with, there are two alternatives for women to expand their economy through micro garment business. Firstly, self-taught learning or independently studying by undergoing the trials and collecting the information related to tailoring and screen printing skills. Secondly, learning those through the course or training institution. Through this article, furthermore, women could easily fight for their own war of financial problem of theirs.

Abstract

Women were treated poorly in Jahiliyah era before Islam came. However, that condition was slightly different after Prophet Muhammad were born. The history proved that moslem women had affiliated in economics, politics, education, health, even war. Furthermore, the associated and roles of Moslem women historically are told from the story of Siti Khadijah and Qilat Ummi Bani as businesswomen. Besides, there are some figures who are also known as hardworking women; Zainab Binti Jahsy, Ummu Salim binti Malhan, Al-Syifa’, Ummul Mukminin Aisyah binti Abu Bakar ash-shiddiq, and so forth. Therefore, there is no limitation for women to advance their career especially to boost their household finances.

Abstract

Development urgency in the border area is can not touches all of community aspects in life. While the implementation of development is not equal for people who live in the border area. This paper described about women empowerment of Bidai plaiting. One of the community business border rely on local resources is the product of Bidai. This paper using secondary of the data and field observation, then analized in the form of descriptive research. Based on the field data and analysis showing that the government and stakeholder is to be an effort to community empowering, mainly woman in the developing business of Bidai craft.

Abstract

The nation’s prosperity and wealth could be acknowledged from the economy sector. To improve the economy sector of one nation could not be performed half-hearted. It would need the support of all citizen, especially the smallest entity of the society – a family. The married women could also help their husband to enhance the household finance. The effort, in addition, would be effective by processing the local natural resources. Furthermore, through the local resources utilization, the housewives especially could enhance their economy.Besides, the Sago management processed by the farmer of Sago at Sungai Bemban village is stil lack in any aspects. Because they only work on half materials called “Sagu Basah”. Therefore, they need a guidance to create an excellent product of sago that could be a chance of business.
