Abstract

Homosexual is an attraction feeling, sexually, to people of one’s own sex. Based on the internal factor, homosexual people – from teenager age – basically have feelings and tendency only to men not women. Meanwhile, from the external aspect, homosexual is done because of friends, lifestyle, or environment. Furthermore, the internal aspect of homosexual is due to genetic factor. Children who were born with genetic and hormonal disorders would grow up based on their sexual deviance. Besides, the external aspect of homosexual comes from outside. In addition, the external factors could be begun from parental education, neighborhood, physic or psychological abuse, social-media effects, and friendships. As a result, the homosexual doer would have unnecessary future, morally or socially. Moreover, the psychological and religious approach would be needed. The therapy is demanded in order to restore the awareness of homosexual doers about their true identity as human.

Abstract

The impact of neglecting vitamin intake, particularly vitamin C, extends beyond diminished immune function to include a reduction in metabolic processes, which can subsequently impair learning concentration and lead to declines in academic performance and nutritional status among students. Vitamin C is an essential micronutrient crucial for human health, serving as a potent antioxidant and bolstering the immune system. This study aims to provide education on various sources of vitamin C and its health benefits, as well as demonstrate vitamin C identification among students at MAN 3 Pontianak. This research is a descriptive design with a one-group pretest-posttest framework, involving 30 respondents. The findings reveal that out of 30 students (100%), the majority were aged 16 years, comprising 22 individuals (73.3%). The predominant gender among respondents was female, with 20 individuals (66.7%), while male respondents numbered 10 (33.3%). Prior to the educational intervention, student knowledge was categorized as good for 17 individuals (56.7%), adequate for 12 individuals (40%), and poor for 1 individual (3.3%). Following the educational intervention, all 30 students (100%) were classified as having good knowledge. This indicates a significant enhancement in the overall knowledge of vitamin C sources and their health benefits among students at MAN 3 Pontianak after the educational program.

Abstract

Commercial antiperspirant products commonly incorporate synthetic compounds, several of which have raised concerns due to their potential carcinogenicity. Moreover, the inclusion of natural antibacterial agents in these formulations remains limited. Hibiscus sabdariffa L. (Rosella), a plant rich in bioactive secondary metabolites, offers a promising natural alternative. This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial efficacy of rosella-based antiperspirant formulations, particularly against Staphylococcus epidermidis, a key contributor to body odor. Three formulations (F1, F2, and F3) were developed and assessed based on several parameters: pH, organoleptic properties, homogeneity, spreadability, adhesiveness, and antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis. The results demonstrated that the antiperspirant preparations complied with standard evaluation criteria. Furthermore, the antibacterial assay outcomes yielded statistically significant differences (p < 0.05) in the mean diameter of the inhibition zones, indicating that H. sabdariffa L. exhibited measurable antibacterial activity against S. epidermidis. These findings support the potential application of Rosella extract in developing natural and efficacious anti-perspirant products.
