Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study is "Is the Problem Beased Learning (PBL) Learning Model Using Bridge Cards Effectively Against Student Learning Outcomes in Class VIII Opportunity Materials in Pagaralam 2 Public Middle School Academic Year 2018/2019?". The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Problem Beased Learning (PBL) Learning Models Using Bridge Cards Against Student Learning Outcomes in Opportunity Materials in Class VIII of Pagaralam 2 Public Middle School Academic Year 2018/2019. The research method is the experimental method with the design of the pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of this study is class VIII E as the experimental class with the number of students that is 31 and that is 70.67 while the sample in the control class class VIII H with the number of students is 31 and that is 60.64. Data collection techniques used documentation and tests. The data analysis technique uses the t test. In the experimental class with a value of 70.67 and S which is 13.00 while in the control class that is 60.64 and S is 13.52, it is obtained tcount 3.1206 t table 1.701, then Ho is rejected Ha is accepted, meaning the research hypothesis is accepted. So Problem Beased Learning (PBL) Learning Model Using Bridge Cards Effectively Against Student Learning Outcomes In Opportunity Materials In Class VIII Pagaralam 2 Public Middle School Academic Year 2018/2019

Abstract

Mathematics is an abstract subject so it is considered a difficult subject for some students and students. Language is a human communication tool. The use of language that is well structured and precise will make it easier for the interlocutor to understand what is being conveyed, this also applies in learning. The level of students' understanding of the material presented by educators is the main factor that can affect student learning outcomes. The method used in this research is bibliometric analysis method. Bibliometric analysis is a research method used by researchers to find the widest possible information related to keywords in the research to be carried out. The objectives of this research are, among others: (1) To find out trends regarding language research in mathematics learning communication. (2) To find out the great opportunities for further research on the topic of language in mathematics learning communication. The researcher found that there have been many studies with the keyword “mathematics”, but there is still little research related to mathematics learning, mathematics outcomes and quality. This can be an opportunity for further research to conduct research on these three keywords.

Abstract

Educational psychology as a branch of psychology has an essential role in education. History shows that educational psychology calls for education to develop over time, especially in mathematics education. The awareness about individual differences and the fact that students need psychological intervention, the more convincing the role of psychology in education in mathematics learning. This study describes the role of psychology in mathematics education. Using a qualitative approach with a literature study design, this research discusses the role of educational psychology in the learning process of mathematics, mathematics assessment, and mathematics education research.

Abstract

Conceptual knowledge is basic knowledge that connects pieces of information such as facts, skills, concepts, or principles. Knowledge can be understood deeply if someone masters a comprehensive understanding of the concept. This study aims to analyze the importance of mathematical conceptual understanding in mathematics learning. This study was conducted using the literature review method, namely by conducting a systematic review of relevant literature sources in scientific journals, books and academic articles about the importance of conceptual knowledge on students' mathematics learning outcomes. The indicators of students' mathematical conceptual understanding are: students verbally restate the concepts that have been learned, students classify objects based on whether or not the requirements to form the concept are met, students apply concepts algorithmically, students present concepts in various forms of mathematical representation, and students relate various concepts (internal and external mathematics). Based on the research conducted, it was found that conceptual knowledge plays an important role in the teaching and learning process and is the basis for achieving the final results. The reason why mathematical conceptual understanding is important for students is as a basis for knowledge that is the goal of early mathematics learning. If the basic concept received by students is wrong, it is difficult to correct it, especially if it has been applied in solving mathematics problems

Abstract

This study aims to produce teaching materials in the form of E-LKPD based on PMRI approach on Cube and block material that is valid, practical, and has a potential effect on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students in Class VIII of SMP Negeri 18 OKU. The research method used is a research development method consisting of preliminary stage (analysis stage and design stage) and prototyping stage using formative evaluation flow (self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group, and field test). Data collection was conducted using questionnaires, interviews and tests. The results of this study are: (1) E-LKPD based on PMRI approach developed qualitatively valid seen from the comments and suggestions of the validator, in addition quantitatively with the results of the validation sheet analysis by obtaining an average score of 80.9 at the expert review stage. These results show that the PMRI approach based on E-LKPD is in the very good category (2) e-LKPD based on PMRI approach developed is very practical qualitatively and quantitatively by obtaining an average score of 84 at the one-to-one stage, 88 at the small group stage and 88 at the field test stage. (3) E-LKPD based on PMRI approach developed has a potential effect on the ability to understand mathematical concepts with an average value of 73.8.

Abstract

Interest in learning is also the key to success in learning. Interest in learning is doing a learning activity to increase knowledge and skills as well as experience and driving force from within each individual. The development of a QR Code-based module was carried out to increase students' interest in learning quadratic equations. The research was conducted at MTs Nurul Huda Bercak Asri Cermee Bondowoso. The subjects used were class X students. The research method used in this study is Research and Development with a four-D model, namely, define, design, develop and disseminate. The expert validation test was carried out by 3 experts with a percentage of test results, namely linguists 93.3%, media 80% and materials 93.3%. For the practicality test, the researcher used 2 stages, namely teacher activity analysis and student activity analysis. With the percentage of teacher activity analysis results of 80%, student activity 87.3%. While for the effectiveness test of learning devices, it was carried out through 2 assessments, namely student response questionnaires and KKM completion. Based on the research that has been carried out, the results obtained were, student response questionnaires 83.3% and KKM completion 86%. After the learning device test was carried out, a validity test, reliability test and T-Test test were carried out. The results of the validity test that had been carried out were valid with the acquisition of r-calculated data above the provisions of all r-tables. The reliability test also showed reliable decisions. While for the T-Test test there was also an increase in student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of mathematics learning using an ethnomathematics approach in improving students' conceptual understanding of quadrilaterals in grade VII at SMP Negeri 3 Godean. The research design was quasi-experimental with a one-sample pretest-posttest control group. Two classes were involved: VIIA as the control group and VIIC as the experimental group. The instruments used were pretest and posttest. The ethnomathematics approach linked geometric concepts to local culture, specifically the Joglo house in Yogyakarta. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental group increased by 15.19 points, indicating a significant improvement in conceptual understanding. In contrast, the control group, which used conventional teaching methods, showed less improvement. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that mathematics learning with an ethnomathematics approach is effective in enhancing students' understanding of quadrilaterals. This approach makes learning more relevant to local culture, making it more engaging and meaningful for students.
